West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Work Camps exists to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the lives and homes of West Virginians through Christian service. We coordinate volunteer labor, community partnerships, and resources to provide home repairs and accessibility improvements for people who need assistance while creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers to put their faith into action.

We seek to use the time, talents, financial resources, and materials entrusted to us responsibly and effectively.
Our work is possible because churches, volunteers, homeowners, community organizations, donors, and local leaders work together.
The people we serve are our neighbors and partners. We approach every homeowner and community with respect, compassion, and dignity.
We believe service is one of the most meaningful ways we can demonstrate our faith and care for our neighbors.
Serving West Virginia Since 2002
West Virginia Ministry of Advocacy and Work Camps was formed in 2002 in response to disaster and the needs of West Virginia communities. What began as a response to immediate need grew into an ongoing ministry of service. For more than two decades, WV MAW has brought volunteers, churches, community partners, and supporters together to improve homes and lives throughout West Virginia. Over the years, volunteer teams from West Virginia and across the country have repaired homes, built wheelchair ramps and other accessibility improvements, strengthened communities, and formed lasting relationships with the people they came to serve. While the projects may involve lumber, paint, tools, and construction, the heart of WV MAW has always been people—neighbors helping neighbors and volunteers putting their faith into action through service.
2002
Since 2002, WV MAW has been sustained by the Presbytery of West Virginia and the Synod of the Trinity, along with generous individual donors, churches, and community partners. Their support funds construction materials, volunteer coordination, and our host sites — making it possible to serve West Virginia homeowners today.
